Long after the sensation of Titanic, I put in the disc, 2001,to review the movie, calmly.
The first time I watched it, I didn't cry or feel anything like it. I was not deeply touched by it, the love story, or anything else. This is understandable 'cause I was only a child then, looking back from now. Though much more mature and knowingly now, I still haven't the honor to enjoy the joy brought by love, so consequently, I'm not catched by the melancholy plot. But from the time the collision happened, I couldnot help taking notice of every subtle action of the glorious crew.
Of their reporting the iceberg, their steering, their watching on nervously, their countenance after knowing the sinking an hour later.
Of their putting down the boats, their crying "women and children", their stopping men, their accepting and denying bribes, their findingthemselves.
Of their gunshots, when the situation was not to be controled, their saluting and suicide to pay back.
Of Mr.Andrews's "I'm sorry I didn't build a stronger ship for you."
Of the Captain's holding the rudder when the water came in crashing the windows.
Of the fiddlers's playing, among the scared crowd, of their devotion to music without forgetting the surrounddings.
Of the coming back to find survivers, of the "Don't hit them", of the murmuring "We're too late."
Of the waving of green flare, when the sky turned white, and last night being like a dream.
Yes, I almost can't help myself, but for the too much tears already seen.In these, I see the unbending human nature, the dazzling humanity, covered in peace time, but seen in crisis and inspiriting. The green flare willalways be there, lighting the way forwards.
